Antique GIEN Dessert / Decorative "Assiettes Parlantes" - The Story Of Joan Of Arc - Set Of SIX

£140.00

A very beautiful history lesson….these GIEN antique plates depicting the story of Joan Of Arc (Histoire De Jeanne D’Arc) are really very special indeed and in wonderful condition. I have six in total which does not make the full set BUT is a great deal more than I’ve ever seen before. Usually I spot single plates which are still very pretty indeed but there’s something about multiples which really bring it to life and make for the most fantastic display.

We have numbers 1, 3, 9, 10, 11 and 12 and each plate measures D20cm and all are in amazing condition for their age - the makers stamp puts them in the early 1900s.

Gien is one of the oldest and most revered French makers and these “Assiette Parlante” are increasingly hard to find and much sought by international collectors.

The price is for the set of six as it feels wrong to separate them.
